Tylenol Recall 2009

The FDA ordered a recall for all 80-milligram children's Tylenol Meltaways which is been compressed in bottles. The 80-milligrams of SoftChews compressed in blisters and Jr. Tylenol Meltaways 160-milligrams also have been recalled back. The corporation requested this products to be recalled back because of wording confusion of the packages which lead to overdose to those who have not enough knowledge about how to use this products. By the way the recall of those products was only voluntary.


The Daily News Central wrote this in the accordance to the recall of Tylenol products:

The recall was triggered by concerns that blister packs containing two pills in
each compartment would lead some consumers to believe that the two tablets
contained a total of 80 milligrams of acetaminophen; each tablet contains 80
milligrams.

Other recent problems for Tylenol:

As for bottled products and the 160-milligram product, the company said that
labeling on the front panel of the carton could confuse consumers on proper
dosages. The spokeswoman said McNeil was changing wording on the front of the
package to say that each “tablet” contains the given strength of acetaminophen
rather than each “dose.”
